Tribuo is a cashless giving and sharing platform originally
designed for hospitality or anyone who operates in what was
a cash-driven economy. Customers or donors scan a QR code
and can reward or donate in matter of seconds.
By
the end of 2021, only 27% of transactions will involve coins
or notes. This spells disaster for workers or charities who
are heavily reliant on cash. As the usage of cash shrinks,
these cash driven sectors will see their earnings fall
significantly.
We are here to provide a new
alternative and honest way for these hardworking men and
women to receive their tips and gratuities and generate more
income for them, at no cost to them.
Tribuo is an extremely simple solution for customers to
reward their favourite staff or donate to a charity in
seconds via their smart devices. No app required. Just scan
a QR code.
If you are a hospitality worker, are self-employed, work in the gig economy or with charities, there is often no method to accept cash as gratuities or donations anymore. Tribuo is a simple and convenient tool to accept these gratuities and donations.
All tips, minus the transaction fees will go to the employees. Tribuo can be completely FREE if you ask your donors to cover your fees. Most supporters choose to do so.
As a business, you have to provide a QR code or a web link
which will take your customers to your personalised landing
page. This is a 3-5 seconds process.
They can
then reward your staff or yourself with Apple Pay,
Google/Android Pay or by entering their credit card (all
details of which are processed by our payment provider,
Stripe).
Stripe is our partner which allows us to process all the
payment, store the funds collected and subsequently,
distribute the fund back to your nominated account.
Once processed, the monies will be sent straight to your
connected Stripe's (our payment provider) account. You
or the businesss can decide to share the rewards whenever
you wish.
Where teams share tips, they are able
to share them out daily, weekly or monthly, based on the
hours each team member has worked. We have a free in-built
tool which allows you to distribute the rewards based on
number of team members, hours or days worked.
For Xero Accounting Platform users, Tribuo also
allows you to integrate your accounting platform to extract
timesheets to further simplify the distribution process!
There are no monthly subscription fees or membership fees.
Tribuo provides a 'Freemium' service.
Tribuo
does charge a small platform fee of 4% on each transaction.
Additionally, Stripe charges a 1.75% + A$0.30 for Australian
card processing (3.5% + A$0.30 for international cards).
Tribuo can be completely
FREE if you ask your customers to cover
your fees. Most customers choose to do so!
Apple Pay and Google Pay, which means the majority of the cards in the digital mobile wallets can be used to reward the team. If mobile wallest is not set up, the customers can also fill in their credit card details.
Anyone who has access to the dashboard of the business can view who has rewarded or leave a message for you. The whole purpose of this is to provide a full transparency on the distribution and to read the message(s) and feedback.
You can manage the rewards distribution through your
dashboard. You can pay or cash out anytime you wish. The
minimum pay out amount is AUD $ 20.
Tribuo
leaves it to you to manage the distribution amongst your
team members yourselves.
There are free in-built
tools on the dashboard designed to assist you with the fund
distribution.
You can have the QR code anywhere and everywhere so this would have a much bigger reach than just a stand alone tip jar.
Please note, it is best to consult your tax agent as we are
no tax professionals! Typically, if a business is registered
for GST, and the tips are distributed directly to staff
members, the business does not have to pay GST on the tips,
nor do they have to report the tips as income.
When the tips are distributed directly to staff
via Tribuo, it does not have to be reported as a
pay-as-you-go deduction, nor on the employee annual payment
summary. However, as an employee, any tips received must be
reported as individual income and must be included when the
employee lodges their yearly tax return.
As a Not-For-Profit, you just have to provide a QR code or a
web link which will take your donors to your personalised
landing page. This is a 3-5 seconds process.
They
can then donate to your cause with Apple Pay, Google/Android
Pay or by entering their credit card (all details of which
are processed by our payment provider, Stripe).

While cash or donation jar is traditionally the best
fundraising method, cash is no longer the main form payment
method.
Payment terminals such as Square is
great for merchants to process payments, but not necessarily
ideal at a fundraising event. Tribuo is a simple wed-based
platform that allows donors to quickly donate to your cause
at an event via a QR or a quick web link.
In
addition, Tribuo allows you to collect donor data,
distribute the funds collected, customise your donation
page, send tax receipts and much more.
Tribuo
simplifies the way you fundraise, and we’re constantly
innovating to bring you the simplest way to fund raise at
events.

We built Tribuo to allow businesses help their team members
take home more gratuities and rewards. This ranges from your
favourite cafes and pubs that you frequent to the tour guide
you met on your recent trip. Generally, most high-end
restaurants and bar employees take home a good amount of
tips on a daily basis. However, not all hospitality and
service employees work in high end restaurants or bars.
Most employees do not know how much gratuities
they should receive or where it goes to. Tribuo provides
this transparency and democratise rewards amongst all staff
members.
Lastly, most businesses spent countless
hours calculating the total gratuities their staff shall
receive. Tribuo provides a clean and easy solution to this
problem with simple tools designed to reduce the pain and
complexity of gratuities distribution.
Tribuo is a virtual tip jar. Scan the QR code and you can
choose to reward your favourite venue or staff member.
You can also leave a few words of encouragement
or feedback at the end of the payment process to let them
know how much you appreciate their service!
As we do not charge our business users or
Not-For-Profit any monthly subscription fees, we pass on a
small transaction fee of 4% to help keep our platform
operating flawlessly and allows us to grow. We give you the
choice to cover these fees in full if you wish, so ALL of
the money can go to the charities or staff members (for
business users).
Additionally, Stripe, our
payment provide charges a 1.75% + $0.30 for credit card
processing. They are responsible to safely handle the money
from you, process it, store it and then pay it back out to
the valued team members.
Absolutely. We do not hold any of your financial information. Every transaction is processed by Stripe Payment Pty Ltd. Millions of Australian businesses of all sizes—from startups to large enterprises—use Stripe’s software and APIs to accept payments, send payouts, and manage their businesses online. We don’t use your data for any other reason than getting your tips.
